Dr. Shelia Truelove

Co-Chairman

Dr. Shelia Truelove is a resilient, faith-filled individual who serves as a giver of hope and inspiration. With a B.S. in Psychology, an M.S. in Management, from Faulkner University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her ende avors. Dr. Truelove holds an Alabama professional Educators Teaching Certificate in Collaborative Teaching and has been recognized as Teacher of the Year for Birmingham City Schools (2010) for her exceptional work in Special Education. Beyond the classroom, Dr. Truelove’s passion for teaching and mentoring extends to enhancing the lives of others. She has been honored as a Community Hero for her dedication to children and has successfully established nonprofit organizations. Additionally, she served as the Director of an Annual Children’s Business Fair, where she guided and promoted kid entrepreneurship.  Dr. Truelove was a featured expert and writer for the Life of a Single Mom, a national non-profit organization.

 Furthermore, she is a published author of the children’s book “I Can Win,” which instills resilience in children through the use of 21 positive declarations. Transparent about her personal journey, Dr. Truelove shares her experiences of overcoming the stigmas of single parenting, financial hardships, homelessness, emotional and mental barriers with her children, and battling depression. She highlights how her faith in God enabled her to regain her worth and equip her children to do the same. With her diverse accomplishments and unwavering dedication, Dr. Shelia Truelove continues to inspire others, spread hope, and make a lasting impact in the lives of those she encounters.
