Collins R. Peterson BS, MBA, known for his infectious smile and personality, but behind it all is a small-town country boy from Thomaston, AL with big dreams. Collins R. Peterson was always a dreamer full of ambition with bigger than life ideas. As a young child he had a niche for innovation and a huge desire to impact others. Therefore, it is no surprise that Collins followed his passion for technology and innovation to complete a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Alabama A&M University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and continued his education to receive a master’s degree in business administration. Because of his desire to impact the world, he spent the first 10 years of his career specializing in military aircraft design and providing service working directly with domestic and international military leaders, and the last 4 years leading the charge for a major commerce company that provides faster service and options for consumers within super rural markets. This includes implementing new programs that have resulted in access to daily essentials and jobs for an overall improvement in quality of life.
Collins has always said, “I love my career because I am afforded the opportunity to directly impact the lives of others and provide services to people around the world”. Not only has Collins used his career to impact the world, but he has served as a mentor to several aspiring engineers and program managers. Recently, he was appointed as an ambassador to increase awareness of minorities in tech at his current employer. This further advances his vision for equality for all, and as a board member for WEcare Family Practice Outreach, the vision of the organization pairs perfectly with his goal to increase awareness and provide resources within minority communities. He is someone that is truly passionate about serving others and ensuring we are advocates for change.
