Dr. Shayla Crenshaw McCray

Dr. Shayla Crenshaw McCray was born and reared in Selma, Alabama.  After graduating from high school, she matriculated at Tuskegee University, where she earned a Bachelor’ s degree in psychology. She later obtained two master’s degrees in education from Alabama State University, one in Elementary Education and the other in Educational Administration. With a passion for policy, she gained a law degree from Vermont Law School where she achieved the Dean of Student Affairs and Diversity Award. In addition, she received her doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama Superintendents ‘Academy. She has been a successful Teacher, Literacy Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal, At Risk Coordinator, Co-curriculum Coordinator, Adult Educator, and Director. She frequently serves as a motivational speaker sharing her areas of expertise throughout the state of Alabama.
